This hand-carved sterling silver whale tail pendant is accented with a luminous cultured pearl and inspired by the enduring power of the ocean. Across cultures, the whale tail has long symbolised protection and good fortune , honoured in Māori tradition and once worn by sailors as a talisman for safe passage through unpredictable seas.
The sculpted silver tail, with its two lobes forming a single, powerful fluke, reflects balance, connection, and respect for the ocean. Carefully handcrafted with attention to detail, each pendant is unique, carrying its own character. The contrast between polished sterling silver and the soft glow of the pearl gives the piece a timeless presence, easily worn from day to night.
A meaningful choice for ocean lovers, or for those navigating life’s changing currents.

About
Jewellery-making has been part of my heritage for generations, and I am proud to carry forward the traditional craftsmanship of Sri Lanka's south coast. Working from my workshop in Dickwella, I handcraft each piece using sterling silver, gold, recycled wood, and responsibly collected natural shells. By combining traditional techniques with contemporary design, I create meaningful jewellery that celebrates Sri Lanka's rich craftsmanship, natural beauty, and cultural heritage.
